Monochrome Music

Supplies Needed:

Tube of choice - I am using the stunning artwork of Maxine Gadd
which I purchased from CDO but she no longer appears to be selling with them
Font of choice

open blank canvas 700 x 700
floodfill white

Starting with the Black Beauty kit

c/p paper 11
open Miz_BB_mask 2
layers, new mask layer, from image
choose the mask in the drop down list
ensure invert mask data is checked
merge group
close mask

c/p element 33
c/p element 37
c/p element 24, resize 50, move to left slightly
c/p element 23, resize 40, move to bottom left of music sheets

c/p tube, move to right a little
duplicate

make mask layer active, select all, float, defloat, invert
on one tube hit delete a couple of times
deselect
on the duplicated tube erase most of the right side
and bottom of tube but leave the face/head

duplicate bottom tube again
change blend mode on middle and top tube layers to overlay

Now we move onto the Midnight Desire kit

c/p element 24, resize 25, move to bottom left of tube
to cover the hard edge
c/p element 13, resize 40, rotate right a little
c/p element 3, resize 40, mirror, drag below flowers
c/p element 35, resize 20, position in front of clock and flowers

d/s all elements
you may want to reposition the black glitter layer
so you can see it more

add your name, copyright and license information
delete white bg layer
merge visible

Open blank canvas 700 x 700
floodfill white

c/p paper 9
apply mask
merge group

copy and paste the following

element 33, resize 50, duplicate, merge down

element 28, resize 70, rotate left 15, move to bottom of netting, duplicate, 
mirror stack of letters

book, resize 70, position so it looks like its leaning on the letters

element 34, resize 30, position across bottom right corner of book

element 18, resize 20, rotate right 8, move to top left corner of book

Open the wordart, 
select round and copy a piece of wordart you like

paste as new layer

adjust, add noise, gaussian, 70, monochrome
select all, float, defloat
new raster layer
floodfill with a light brown (I chose the color from the letters)
deselect
drag below wordart
merge them together
dropshadow and position to your liking

Add your name
delete white bg layer
merge visible
crop and save as png

recenter if you need to
rename this layer twirl

custom selection
top & left 0, right 700, bottom 25
new raster layer
floodfill with a dark color from your tag
deselect
d/s 2,5,50,8,black
name this layer top bar
duplicate
image, flip
name this layer bottom bar

change foreground color to white
floodfill with fading foreground gradient
angle 270, repeats 0
lower opacity to 60

contract 1, delete

draw a rectangle from the right across about 1/3
of the white border, delete
(the idea is to have a fading frame round your faded rectangle)

hide the bottom 4 layers
merge visible
rename this layer faded rectangle
unhide the bottom 4 layers

duplicate your faded rectangle twice
mirror one of them, 
image effects, offset h-500, v-30

on the 2nd duplicate
offset h-10, v10

again hide the bottom 4 layers
merge visible
duplicate

rotate left 90
offset h300, v-60
lower opacity to 65

custom selection
top & left 0, right & bottom 30
new raster layer
floodfill white
contract by 10
floodfill with the same dark color as the bars we made earlier
add your favourite inner bevel
deselect

repeat offset

merge all 3 squares together
rotate left 90
reposition between the two sets of faded rectangles

now using your selection tool, rectangle, feather 0
select round the tiny colored square, copy
deselect

paste as new layer
resize by 70
position in the top left corner of the vertical
faded rectangles
duplicate twice and move them into a vertical line
a few pixels apart from each other 
merge them together
duplicate
rotate left 90
reposition to the same place on the horizontal faded rectangles

c/p your tube, resize if necessary
position on the right edge of your canvas
duplicate
gaussian blur 9
change blend mode to overlay
merge down
duplicate, mirror

make your vertical faded rectangles layer active
select all, float, defloat, invert
on your mirrored tube, position to your liking
within the selection then hit delete a couple of times
deselect, lower opacity of tube to around 35

Using a small or pixel font, and a contrasting color
type out your name or favourite saying or quote across the top bar

add some nice faded brushes to your twirl layer if you wish

add your name, copyright and license information
merge all flatten
save as jpg

Steam Shore

Now drag your frame to the top of your layer palette
click inside it with your magic wand
expand by 2
c/p paper again
invert, delete
drag below your frame layer
keep selected
c/p tube
resize to fit nicely
and hit delete
deselect
change blend mode to luminance legacy
duplicate
adjust, blur, gaussian blur 9
change blend mode to overlay (or whatever looks good to you)

Dont forget to bring that bottom left shamrock back on top of the frame

Now go  back over the layers and change the blend modes

overlays - luminance
frame, cog 1, cog 2, clock face - luminance legacy
add d/s to frame

Make mask layer active
c/p shamrock scatter, resize 30
duplicate, mirror
position one so its showing under the frame and
one a little higher

Add some wordart if you wish

add name, copyright and license information
delete white bg layer
merge visible
crop and save as png

position so the bottom of the stems are in the bottom corner of the frame
then carefully erase any stem that are showing outside the frame but not the flowers
the aim is to make them look like they are coming out from behind the frame

place behind square layer to the right

c/p tube, resize to fit nicely on the left of your tag

Irish Eyes

open blank canvas 700 x 700

preset shapes
rounded rectangle
foreground null, background dark green
draw out a rectangle in the middle of your canvas
convert to raster

change color to a different shade of green
draw out another rectangle like your first
but make it slightly longer and not as wide
so you can still see the first one above and
below it.  convert to raster

on both rectangle layers
select all, float, defloat
expand by 5
new raster layer
floodfill with a yellow/gold color
deselect
add noise, 44, uniform, monochrome
layers, arrange, move down
d/s

change preset shape to a heart
draw out a small heart in yet another green
convert to raster
duplicate
rotate left 100
duplicate
image, mirror
now position the 3 hearts so the points are touching
each other, merge down twice
You can use your pen tool to draw a little stalk if you wish

rotate your shamrock left 15
duplicate, mirror
position one top left of top rectangle and
one bottom right
merge down
add noise, 44 uniform monochrome
select all, float, defloat, expand by 3
new raster layer
floodfill with the same yellow you used earlier
deselect
layers, arrange move down
d/s

Make top rectangle active
select all, float, defloat
c/p tube as new layer
resize to fit nicely
selections invert
hit delete on your tube
deselect

change blend mode to luminance legacy
